WELCOME!

My name is Marvin B. Aceron and I will be teaching the course on Securities Law for the first semester of this year in the School of Law of Araullo University in Cabanatuan City.

This blog will serve as an extension of the class room discussion. Feel free to visit regularly to view additional notes and reading materials on the subject of Philippine Securities Law.

Students will be encouraged to post their comments and views. If you want to join, please send me your email address so I can send you your invitation.

I took this job of teaching Securities Law because it gives me an opportunity to look back at my years in a big law firm in Makati handling mostly securities projects in the late 90s. I also had a shot at securities litigation when I worked for a team which handled the BW cases for one of the respondents. I likewise filed cases against a notorious securites broker who has since left the country. I was never really sure if I handled the cases just right. Perhaps, the academe will help me put everything in perspective and help me be a better lawyer.

To the students who have enrolled in my class, I hope you will learn from this exercise as well.
